It's a beautiful place
A beautiful place

Kilcoy Shire is known for it's natural beauty and as the home of the mystical Yowie (Australia's own Big Foot). Kilcoy and surrounding area have many vineyards that are well established with five cellar doors open and more to follow. There are several short trips from Millawa which take in many local townships, villages and tourist attractons. These include Lake Somerset and the Wivenhoe Dam for Watersports.

Visit the hinterland via the Glasshouse Mountains at Beerwah to Maleny for excellent craft shops, art galleries and restaurants. Another interesting trip is through the Corondale Range to the forestry village of Jimma, the home of the highest fire lookout in Queensland.

The short journey to Woodford via Villeneuve and Neurum stopping at the Narrow Gauge Rail Museum is also worth while. Kilcoy, only 20kms from Millawa, is typical of all rural Queensland towns with a friendly reception at the local stores and sports clubs is assured.
